What is The Technical Writing Mentorship Program
TWMP is a seasoned program organized by Wisdom Nwokocha. This organization was founded in 2022. The program is open to beginners, intermediates, and experts in technical writing.
It provides you with learning resources from the TWMP Academy blog. TWMP also provides an opportunity to contribute to its open-source program.
The Cohort 3 program, spans 3 months of intensive training. The activities carried out during this cohort are:
Weekly classes: Live classes are held weekly where mentees are exposed to new topics by expert technical writers. Question and Answer are also part of the weekly classes.
Reviews/feedback from mentors: You get feedback and reviews from mentors Identifying areas for improvement.
Assignment: There is a Chinese saying “If I hear it, I forget. If I see it I remember. If I do it I know”. You learn by doing, therefore TWMP gives you a series of assignments to put into practice what you have learned.
Collaboration with mentees: You have the opportunity to network and collaborate with fellow writers.
My Journey To The Technical Writing Mentorship Program
My journey to TWMP began in January 2024, the program was announced on Twitter and Linkedln.
A formal announcement in February detailing the program's commencement was made. The criteria for acceptance was for participants to take an evaluation test with a specific deadline for submission. After that, selected participants were notified via email.
February 22nd, participants had their onboarding call with Kei Watanabe Co-founder of Glasp. He shared invaluable insights that will guide participants through the internship journey, also he gave an introduction to the Glasp Writing tool.
From the inception of this program, it has fostered a supportive community and provided impactful mentorship.
